INFO ON ILLINOIS TOLLS

Submitted by Bruce Hirsch, IL Chapter H

According to Illinois State Toll Highway spokeswoman Jan Kemp-

Effective January 1st, 2005, you MUST always use the manual toll lanes and must always pay at least TWICE the customary toll amount if you do not have, and use an I-PASS device whether on 2 wheels or more. If you tow a trailer with your bike you will pay even more.

A vehicle with two axles and two or four tires is still considered a car, for purposes of toll rates.

Thus, when toll rates increased by 100% January 1st, that toll gate you and your trailer rolled thru for $.60 (Sixty cents, i.e. the basic 40 cent toll plus Twenty Cents for the one axle trailer) will now at least double to Eighty cents and possibly more depending on the time of day.

If you frequently pull a trailer with your bike you can get a Class 7 I-PASS gadget.
