I would like to say a few words about the two rides that we had.  Chuck and Sue Mincks led one up to Decorah for lunch at Mabes.  The food there is always great.  Our waitress took our order and didn’t write anything down.  As you may have guessed she was young and doesn’t suffer from old timers disease cause she got the orders right.  Half the time I can’t remember my name or where I live, I was very impressed.  We made our way back to Cedar Rapids via Mc Gregor and along the Mississippi looking at the locks and dam.  Like I said we had a really great ride.

We led the next ride and I have to say it was marvelous.  The weather really cooperated and we had 8 bikes.  Good thing Don knew the route because as usual I forgot the map that he gave me.  You see, old timers has hit bad.  We actually found roads that had lots of twists and turns and ended up in Bellvue for ice cream.  We then made a fast escape from town because they were having a craft sale on the main street.   told him there were vendors selling their wears, but he said he didn’t see them.  I could even smell fresh pooped kettle corn.  Somehow I think he wasn’t telling the truth.  I hate to call him a liar, but I do believe he was lying to me.  We made it back to Marion for dinner at the Pizza Ranch.

Like Gary said if everyone next year will lead just one ride we will be in great shape for places to go.  It doesn’t have to be long or elaborate.  We didn’t leave until noon and we were back at 5:00.  It is your ride you can do what ever and go wherever you want.  Your participation is what makes the club great.  I must say the meeting Thursday was a lot of fun.  No one is immune to a little ribbing.  Everyone manages to pitch in and have fun.
