CHRISTMAS IN JULY
(Written by George Ramsey, PA State Director)
Saturday July 31st, Ruthie and I were privileged to participate in a ride that would benefit abused children. We were fortunate to have one of our Chapter B members call us on Friday to tell us that the Blue Knights were having a Christmas in July toy run. I know that other A.G.W.A. Chapters have these rides and know now how rewarding they are. Children need to know that they are loved and wanted 365 days a year, not just on December 25th. Especially children who are victims of abuse. On such short notice, we didn’t have as many people from our chapter as we would have liked but still it was good.
The organizers had expected maybe ten or so bikes and ended up with 31. They hope to make it an annual event on the last Saturday of July and I’m sure it will get bigger and better each year. Our members are talking about it being one of our chapter’s functions.
Thanks to the doctor who organized it, the Blue Knights for all their good work, and those who rode and donated toys. And thank you Rock.
