Well here we go again.  First off I want to say what a good group we had at this month’s meeting.  We just about had a room full.

We have had some really nice rides lately.  On July 24th, Pam and Lyle King, Brian and Heather King, Mike Hefley, and Don Oller rode the Natchez Trace Parkway.  Then on July 31st, Wayne Roberts, Don and I rode.  We just rode around here, no place special.  August 8th, Wayne Roberts, Connie and Dennis Plank, Don and I rode to Sikeston, Missouri where we ate at Lambert’s (home of the “thrown” roll).  August 14th we had a good group that went to Farmington, Missouri to the car races.  Those who went were Dennis Plank, James and Nancy, Jim Henderson, Jimmy and Christopher, a friend of Jimmy’s Vanessa and her daughter Sara, and of course Don and I.

Then on September 4th, James, Nancy, Don and I went to Brian and Heather’s wedding.  It was really nice.  Later that day we were invited to Joe and Julie’s for a party after the wedding.  The food was good and the fellowship was great.  They had a DJ and we had music the whole time we were there.

Next Don and I went to Madison, Indiana for their Weekender.  We left home around 10:30 on the 16th.  We ran into rain off and on all day, but it wasn’t hard rain, thank goodness.  We stopped at Chrome Crazy’s and sat around there for a couple of hours.  You know Don; he has to give Troy a hard time about something.  We got to the motel around 7 pm.  Not too many were there at that time, but those that were sat around and talked.  Slowly on Friday people started coming in.  Bob & Linda Comeau from Massachussetts, Gerry Huff & Branda Zuelch from Michigan, Don and I went for a ride.  We rode and went to a casino.  Don lost $5 on the slot machines, last of the big spenders.  We had lunch at Tugboat; of course I don’t eat that much during the day so I ordered Jalapeno poppers and Don had cheese sticks.  We went to supper at Ponderosa; we had a room full.  Then on Saturday, Greg & Mary Schwartzmiller led us on a ride that was great.  First stop was at a Dairy Queen.  Greg had talked to them and they were ready for us.  The next stop was at a Russell Stover candy outlet.  Sure I bought some candy, that is one of my weaknesses.  Back at the motel, Gail & Owen Toomey and I put on our swimsuits and went to the pool.  No, my suit never got wet.  If the water is over ankle deep I don’t go in.  I sat on the edge with my feet in the water.  The roads in Indiana were great.  Hills and twists and turns and smooth as a babies behind.  I personally want to thank Greg & \Mary, Allen & Tonya Rassman, and Adron & Emogene Rafferty for taking their time to put on this weekender.  You all did a super great job.  We \got to see a lot of old friends and met a lot of new ones too.  Next year the weekender is back in East Tennessee, and I hope to see you there.
