RIDE TO NURSING HOME

Sunday, August 8th:  I forget how many, but we had an array of bikes, from Shadows, to 1200’s to 1500’s to 1800’s to trikes.  The people at the home were pretty impressed.   But then it doesn’t take much to impress you when you’re over 100 years old!  Dawn gave us a nice welcome and a tour of the home.  We saw a side of Dawn that we’d never seen before.  In my opinion … she’s certifiable!  She definitely has what it takes to keep the residents laughing and happy.  She likes her job and she is good at it!  We won’t even talk about kissing the rabbit.  Ask Blaine who gets more attention!  From the home we followed Lola and Ken to a small airport outside Lebanon, PA.  Where I was personally shocked to see model airplanes with jet and turbine engines, reaching speeds of 200 mph, controlled from the ground by remote.  It was hard to imagine when the announcer said that one of the turbines was turning more than 170,000 rpm’s.  All in all, it turned out to be a beautiful day, a nice ride and fun with friends.
