DOES ANYONE REMEMBER

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER

Reprinted from PA Chapter “A” Newsletter

Does Anyone Remember … an AGWA rally, could have been in Virginia.  A group dinner was scheduled at the local Poor Boy diner.  The place is crowded with a lengthy waiting line and it is a hot day.  To pacify the waiting line the manage-ment decided to provide free iced tea for us, a great offering.  They bring out five gallons of tea in a huge thermos and set it on a pedestal table at the edge of the lobby.  Up walks Elaine Campbell (a past chapter member) and she gently puts her hand on the table.  Well there are a couple of truths in life, 1) you don’t set five gallons of tea on the edge of a one legged table, 2) no one should put their hand on an unbalanced table loaded with five gallons of tea.  There it went, you could see the unstoppable motion of the cooler tilt forward, the tea create one huge gushing wave as it lunged forward across the lobby with a thundering splash as it exploded on the floor covering everything and everyone with this cool sticky beverage.  But what the heck, it was a good memory.
